After spending Christmas in Topeka, KS, with our oldest son and his family, we are back in sunny Florida! We stopped for the night in Marianna, FL, where the skies were blue, and the temperature was 56F when we arrived at about 3:45 PM CT.

That’s not particularly warm for Florida, but it sure beats the -4F with a wind chill of -31F we experienced while we were in Topeka!

Tomorrow, we have about a 3-hour drive to reach Old Town, FL. We could have made it back today, but it would have been dark when we arrived. I wanted several hours of daylight to dewinterize the travel trailer and go refill a couple of 30-pound propane cylinders. It has been very cold in Old Town with overnight temperatures in the low 20s while we were away. Since I left the travel trailer’s furnace set at 50 degrees, I expect to find two empty propane cylinders when we get back.

After tomorrow, it appears forecasted temperatures in Old Town will be in the high 70s and low 80s during the day and above freezing at night for a week or two. Mary Alice and I are looking forward to that!
